A brief History
During the industrial revolution there was a shortage of skilled workers to man the industries and factories. To solve the problem, the industry and factory owners through the government went to schools, told the school owners the kind of skills they needed in their factories. “We want a colony of workers and not thinkers who must be able to read, write, obey instructions and maneuver the kinds of machines we have,” they said. Following this request, that was how the educational system and curriculum was tailored to meet the needs of the companies and factories. Mark you, the educational system and curriculum were designed not to solve the problems and service the needs of the global society but to solve the skilled workers shortage problem and service the needs of company and factory owners.
